  • How often do i need electrical services?

    It is recommended to get a qualified electrician to check the system every 3-5 years.

  • If a circuit breaker trips, is this dangerous?

    Yes! Breakers are to protect from short circuits and over amperage. If your breaker is tripping both these situations could start a fire.

  • Why does my light bulb burn out faster than expected?

    Over voltage is the main reason a bulb keeps burning out on a circuit.

  • Can I install electrical wiring myself?

    If installed wrong it could be very dangerous, and could start a fire

  • What is the difference between 110 and 220 volts?

    110v is common in small appliances and devices. Where as 220v is more common on bigger equipment and is more efficient.

  • What is a surge protector?

    Surge protectors are used to absorb spikes in voltage caused from lightning/power companies. It protects sensitive equipment.

  • Why do I need a generator?

    A generator is used to back up power in the event a power outage should occur.

  • Why is my light switch hot?

    The main cause is over loading the switch with to many lights. Switches have an amperage rating and will heat up if over the recommended amperage rating.

  • When is it time to call an electrician?

    Anytime there is a concern with your electrical system.

  • Can I change my light switch to a dimmer switch?

    Yes! As long as the fixture/bulb is listed as dimmable.
